3GPP 5G system consisting of 5G Access Network (AN), 5G Core Network and UE.
5G networks is the latest network of cellular mobile communications. It succeeds by the 4G/LTE. 5G targets high data rate, reduced latency, energy saving, cost reduction, higher system capacity, and massive device connectivity.
5G networks uses higher frequency radio waves, to achieve higher data rates, in or near the by the millimeter wave band.
Its advantage is lower network latency (faster response time) below 1 ms (millisecond), compared with 30 - 70 ms for 4G
5G is the digital cellular networks in which the service area covered by service providers and divided into a small geographical areas called cells (small cells or femto cells).
The major advantage of 5G networks is to achieve much higher data rates than earlier cellular networks, up to 10 Gbits per second, which shall be faster than cable internet, and 100 times faster than the previous cellular technology 4G/LTE.
Because of the higher data rates, 5G networks will not only serve mobile phones but also envisioned to use in office networks, homes and, competing with cable internet providers.
